In the midst of a developing conflict over collaboration, well-known Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has retaliated against notorious culinary critic Opeyemi Famakin for standing up for Chef T, better known as Diary of a Kitchen Lover.
When Wumi Toriola openly criticized Chef T for reportedly turning down her request to collaborate on her food show, the drama began. The starlet attacked the professional chef on social media, upset by what she saw as rejection.
Opeyemi Famakin responded by creating a video in which she praised Chef T as one of the best food bloggers who constantly helps and works with people, especially those she admires. Additionally, he stated unequivocally that he would not put up with slander about her, especially from an actress.
Wumi Toriola took exception at this and quickly clapped out at the food critic. She said that he was being cowardly by disparaging her without naming her.
“To Opeyemi,
Behaving like a coward is totally unnecessary. I’m Wumi Toriola, and I’m only replying to your outbursts and your frantic need for attention. If it gives you even the slightest sense of significance, I don’t mind at all,” she wrote.
She went on to attack Famakin’s integrity, disparaging his work as a food critic and charging him with hurting struggling business owners more than helping them.
However, it’s kind of funny coming from someone who doesn’t have a clear career path or a written job description. “Under the pretense of being a self-appointed food critic, you have done more harm than good to struggling entrepreneurs,” she added.
Wumi gave a scathing remark at the end of her speech, telling him to start a profitable business or job before trying to be critical of her.
Perhaps take a moment to think things through, choose a long-term career, or start your own profitable business the next time you feel the need to come get me. Your words might have a little more weight that way,” she said.
