Tunde Onakoya, a popular Nigerian chess master, has explained why he turned down a huge opportunity that could have changed his life.
Tunde Onakoya revealed on his Twitter page, now X, that he turned down the life-changing opportunity because it did not align with his values and vision.
The founder of Chess in Slums stated that, while it was a difficult decision to make, he believed it was critical for him to prioritize integrity over wealth.
I recently turned down life-changing money. Not because it was completely wrong, but because it did not reflect my values or the vision of who I am becoming.
“The decision was not easy. I debated and attempted to justify saying yes, but in the end, integrity is the true wealth. My decision has left me feeling liberated. I can do anything now.
“Anyway, I’m forever grateful to @OgaBoxx for helping me navigate this new chaos with so much grace and wisdom.”
