Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has explained why she took a break from acting.
Speaking on the talk show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie, Nkechi revealed that the she took a break from acting because a mystery benefactor placed her on a ₦1 million weekly salary, making it unnecessary for her to continue taking low-paying movie roles, as this provided her with a level of financial stability that made acting less urgent.
She said, “Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles, that’s why I took a break from acting.
“I can shoot a movie and I might not even make up to ₦1 million profit from it.”
The actress noted that despite her passion for filmmaking, the low returns from acting compared to the support she received prompted her to reassess the types of projects she pursued.
