President-elect Donald Trump has named Karoline Leavitt as his White House press secretary, making her the youngest in U.S. history at 27.
Leavitt, who previously served as Trump’s National Press Secretary during his 2024 campaign, is recognized for her strong defense of Trump and effective communication skills.
Before her campaign role, Leavitt worked as an assistant press secretary in Trump’s first administration and as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik.
Leavitt, who ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022, is known for her outspoken defense of Trump against liberal media and Democratic critics.
She has also become a prominent figure in Trump’s orbit, juggling her media duties while pregnant and later returning to the campaign after giving birth.
Leavitt has been a vocal critic of Biden’s policies, particularly on issues affecting working mothers and families.
Trump praised her intelligence, toughness, and communication skills, expressing confidence she will excel as press secretary.
