Nurse finally narrate what actually happened on the day Mohbad passed away
Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has revealed what caused his death.
Ogedengbe testified before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, saying that after giving Mohbad the injection, he developed goosebumps. His wife, Omowunmi, reportedly described it as a “normal response” for him.
The nurse stated that she was called to treat Mohbad for a cut on September 11, 2023. The next day, she gave tetanus, paracetamol, and antibiotic injections.
Mohbad reportedly felt nauseous and vomited following the third injection, resulting in weakness and goosebumps.
Nurse’s testimony about how Mohbad died
“On September 11, 2023, I was in Cotonou to process my admission. While on my way back, I noticed Spending’s missed call and called him back. Then he told me to come over and treat his friend in the house who had a cut. I told him I was just returning from Cotonou.
“I later missed his calls because I was unable to pick up. As I arrived at CMS, I received a call from DJ Bami, who introduced himself as being from Spending. I couldn’t visit the house that day. I arrived the next day at around 2:30 p.m. I met a guy in the sitting room carrying Liam, and DJ Bami led me upstairs.
“When I got to Mohbad’s room, I noticed some water on the floor, which Dj Bami mopped. We then moved Mohbad from one room to another. There were only four of us upstairs. Me, Mohbad, Djbami, and Wunmi. As I was administering the first injection, Mohbad inquired about the type of injection I intended to administer, to which I replied Tetanus Injection, Paracetamol Injection, and antibiotics. I started by giving him a Tetanus and Paracetamol injection. Wunmi complained of an ulcer after I gave him the paracetamol injection.
“When I gave him the third injection, he began reacting and saying he wanted to vomit. Djbami and Wunmi led him to the bathroom, where he vomited. He sat down on the floor after throwing up, feeling extremely weak. Then goosebumps appeared on his body. Wunmi told me that’s how he used to react to injections, and I told her she should have told me earlier.
“She then explained that if they pour water on his head, he will calm down. Wunmi then poured water over him. When I noticed the goose bumps, Dj Bami and I dashed down to the pharmacy to get an antidote. We arrived at the first pharmacy, but they did not have what we needed, so we went to another. They called Djbami from the house and said Mohbad was convulsing, so I told them to rush him to the hospital.”
