A Nigerian man living in Italy was arrested after authorities discovered he had purchased a luxurious house for €400,000 (approximately N624 million) despite having no known source of income.
In a TikTok video, the man known as oga.bonnyface described the circumstances surrounding his arrest. He revealed that the Nigerian man moved to Italy in 2016 and had only worked for eight months since then.
According to Oga Bonnyface, the man, whose identity has yet to be revealed, allegedly purchased the expensive property without verifiable employment or legal financial backing, raising concerns about potential financial crimes.
When questioned, he claimed the money was from his job. However, upon reviewing his records, the police discovered that he had only been employed for eight months since 2016.
Further investigations revealed that he was involved in internet fraud, also known as “Yahoo” locally.
The narrative continued: “He arrived in Italy in 2016, and after checking his employment records, authorities found that he had only worked for eight months.”
“He was arrested after purchasing a house worth €400,000. During interrogation, he claimed the money came from his job, but subsequent investigations revealed his fraudulent activities.”
