Thousands of protesters gathered in Seoul near the National Assembly, demanding President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment over his brief martial law declaration.

The crowd, which filled streets and parks, included people of all ages, some carrying lightsticks and calling for Yoon’s removal.

The protest echoed past movements like the 2017 “Candlelight Revolution.”

Yoon apologized for the declaration, citing desperation, and pledged not to attempt martial law again.

An impeachment vote requires support from two-thirds of parliament, but the outcome remains uncertain as opposition leaders push for Yoon’s resignation.

Protesters vowed to continue demanding his removal.
