Man nabbed for fake transfer after ordering phone to surprise lover on Girlfriend’s Day

A Nigerian man has allegedly been caught attempting a fake bank transfer after ordering a phone on pay-on-delivery to surprise his partner on International Girlfriend Day.

The incident was shared in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), where the man was accused of trying to outsmart a delivery agent by pretending to pay for an original phone he had ordered as a gift for his girlfriend.

In the video, the man was confronted and paraded by bystanders. One of them could be heard saying, “You get mind you dey order delivery, when dispatch come you dey put dispatch for debt. You order for original phone.”
