Kiddwaya, a renowned Big Brother Naija reality TV star and rich heir, is under criticism for requesting monetary donations from Nigerians.

According to MEDIA STAR, Kiddwaya launched a donation drive on Wednesday through his NGO to help the victims of the Benue massacre.

Kiddwaya, in an appeal uploaded on X, asked the people to donate whatever they could, ranging from N500 to N500,000. “At the Kiddwaya Foundation, we are mobilizing resources to provide food, housing, and critical assistance to those affected. But we cannot accomplish it alone; we require your assistance.”

His plea for donations drew criticism for his frequent display of wealth and flashy lifestyle on the internet.

In response to the criticism, Kiddwaya resorted to his page to erase the popular post.

According to the Media Star, approximately 200 people were burned alive on Friday night/Saturday morning during a Fulani herdsmen attack in the Yelewata town of Benue State.

@ArakunrinSugar wrote, “It is incredibly touching. A man with enough money to smoke cigars with hundred-dollar notes has suddenly realized the value of community fundraising. How noble. Only in Nigeria do the rich do charity while the poor pay the ticket price.
