The Israeli military confirmed the capture of a senior Hezbollah naval leader, Imad Amhaz, during an operation in Batroun, northern Lebanon.
A video showed Israeli commandos landing on a beach and taking Amhaz, which Lebanese officials labeled as a “kidnapping.”
Lebanon’s transport minister stated that the operation might violate UN Resolution 1701, designed to regulate security between Israel and Lebanon post-2006 war.
Witnesses reported seeing the unidentified military force land and abduct Amhaz, who was taken away on speedboats.
Hezbollah acknowledged the incident as “Zionist aggression,” while the IDF also announced the elimination of Jaafer Khader Faour, a commander responsible for rocket attacks on Israel, further escalating tensions on the northern front.
