Australian golfer Jeffrey Guan, 20, made his PGA Tour debut in September but suffered a devastating accident just a week later.

During a pro-am tournament at Catalina Golf Club in New South Wales, he was struck in the face by a golf ball, leading to complete vision loss in his left eye.

Guan described the incident on social media, noting the immediate pain and confusion before being transported to the hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries for fractures to his eye socket.

He spent two weeks in intensive care, grappling with the emotional impact of his injury and its implications for his future in golf.

Despite the permanent loss of vision, Guan expressed determination to return to the sport, stating he feels mentally stronger and ready to face challenges ahead.

An online fundraiser has been launched to support his recovery, with a goal of raising 500,000 Australian dollars; it has so far collected over 9,000 Australian dollars.

A two-time junior national champion, Guan had just begun his professional journey after competing in the PGA Tour’s Procore Championship but did not make the cut.
