Ai-Da, an AI-powered robot, has created an abstract portrait of Alan Turing, estimated to sell for between $120,000 and $180,000 at Sotheby’s.
Titled “A.I. God. Portrait of Alan Turing,” this piece is notable for being the first artwork made by a humanoid robot, developed by a team at Oxford University.
Ai-Da uses AI algorithms and robotic arms to produce art, reflecting Turing’s emotional and intellectual depth.
Proceeds from the sale will fund further development of Ai-Da’s technology.
Sotheby’s emphasizes the significance of this work in exploring the evolving nature of art in the digital age.
