An Israeli airstrike hit a densely populated neighborhood in Beirut’s Mar Elias district on Sunday evening, killing two people and injuring 13, including two in critical condition.

The strike caused a large explosion and a fire in a car and computer shop, though the exact target was unclear.

Earlier, Israeli airstrikes also killed Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah’s media relations head, in a targeted attack on a building in Ras al Nabaa.

Afif’s death marks another in a series of Israeli assassinations of Hezbollah leaders.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported casualties from both attacks, including a deadly strike on a building that left several people dead and injured.

The strike followed Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah-controlled areas, which have intensified in recent days.

Israel has targeted over 200 sites in Lebanon, aiming to force Hezbollah into accepting cease-fire conditions.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces also attacked a Lebanese Army post in the Hasbaya district, killing two soldiers and injuring three.

Cease-fire talks continue, with the U.S. pushing for the implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war but has not been fully enforced.

Israel is seeking new conditions to prevent Hezbollah’s rearmament, but Lebanon rejects these conditions, citing violations of its sovereignty.
