Rita Carrey, the older sister of actor Jim Carrey, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024.
Her age and cause of death were not disclosed.
Rita’s husband, Alex, shared the news on Facebook, describing her as his best friend, lover, and beautiful wife.
They had been together for 16 years and married in July 2023.
Rita, a musician and co-host of The Peet & Reet Show, was known for her loving soul and desire to help others.
She also started a fundraiser for a local charity.
A candlelight vigil in her memory is scheduled for December 7, 2024, in St. Catharines.
She is survived by her husband, siblings Jim, John, and Patricia.
Jim Carrey did not comment on the reports.
