Jenni Farley, best known for her role as JWOWW on Jersey Shore, has made a career transition into filmmaking with her horror movie Devon, which is streaming on Screambox.
Farley, 38, explained that the COVID-19 pandemic prompted her to shift away from reality TV, and she saw directing as a major personal achievement.
While Devon marks her directorial debut, she emphasized that she won’t fully consider herself a director until she makes more films.
The movie, which Farley also wrote, follows a group of social media users investigating an abandoned asylum where one of them, Devon, disappeared.
The film uses a “found footage” style, drawing inspiration from classics like The Blair Witch Project.
Farley, a long-time fan of horror films, said the genre has always been her favorite form of escapism and she wanted to see if her passion could translate into filmmaking.
Farley, who studied animation and software development at the New York Institute of Technology, brought a collaborative spirit to the low-budget production, often helping with tasks outside her director role.
Devon is now available for streaming, and Farley is also preparing to return to Jersey Shore Family Vacation for Season 8.
