A New York Post columnist, Andrea Peyser, is responding to Martha Stewart’s remarks in the Netflix documentary Martha, in which Stewart claimed that Peyser “is dead now, thank goodness.”

The comment referred to Peyser’s critical coverage of Stewart’s 2004 securities fraud trial, which led to Stewart serving five months in federal prison.

Peyser, who was known for her sharp criticism of Stewart during the trial, was described by Stewart as “looking so smug” throughout the proceedings.

In a statement to mediastar news Peyser mocked Stewart’s comment, saying, “I should be flattered I lived in her head all these years.”

Peyser also wrote an article titled “Hey Martha Stewart, you gloated about the death of a Post columnist — but I’m alive, (expletive)!” In it, she accused Stewart of obsessing over her, despite her own legal troubles, and said Stewart never took responsibility for her crimes, which affected the financial system.

Peyser also criticized Stewart’s portrayal of her in the documentary, calling it “petty and abusive.”

She felt pity for Stewart, stating that while Stewart is “beautiful, creative, and temperamental,” she remains fixated on “insignificant” things, like Peyser.

This latest clash comes amid Stewart’s ongoing feuds with others, including the documentary’s director, R.J. Cutler, and her former friend Ina Garten.

Stewart has criticized Cutler for misusing footage from their time together, and recently revealed in an interview that Garten stopped talking to her when Stewart went to prison, a move Stewart found distressing.

However, Garten explained their estrangement was due to Stewart spending more time at a new property.
