The Scorpions, an iconic hard rock band from the 1980s, have been forced to cancel a series of concerts in Germany due to an injury sustained by their longtime guitarist, Matthias Jabs.
The cancellation affects several shows scheduled for September 2024, including performances in Nuremberg, Hamburg, Leipzig, Cologne, and Frankfurt. Jabs, who has been with the band since 1978, requires surgery and rehabilitation, making it impossible for him to perform during this period.
This cancellation is particularly unfortunate for the band, as they were nearing the end of their “Love at First Sting” world tour. The Scorpions have expressed deep regret, especially to the 40,000 fans who had already purchased tickets.
In a statement, they apologized and assured fans that updates would follow regarding rescheduled dates or refunds.
Despite the setback, the Scorpions remain committed to their fans and have vowed to return once Jabs is fully recovered. Ticket holders will receive more details from the point of sale regarding their options.
The band has a long-standing lineup, with Rudolf Schenker as the only continuous member, while Klaus Meine and Paweł Mąciwoda have been key contributors. Their latest album, *Rock Believer*, released in 2022, continues to showcase their hard rock legacy.
The injury and subsequent show cancellations mark a difficult time for the band, but they hope for a swift recovery for Jabs and to get back on the road to complete their tour.
