My kidney failed, and my liver shut down – reality TV personality Bambam describes her delivery ordeal

Reality TV star and actress, Bamike Olawunmi, popularly known as Bambam, has recounted her traumatic childbirth experience.

Bambam and her husband, Teddy A, welcomed their first child, Zendaya, in 2020, barely a year after their wedding.

Speaking in a recent episode of the ‘Me & My Grils’ podcast, Bambam said her first childbirth experience was traumatic.
She recalled that her kidney failed and her liver and other vital organs shut down in the process.

The reality personality said that a lot of stillbirths occur due to neglect.

She remarked, “A lot of stillbirths are due to negligence. It is either the doctor was not sound, the nurse did not complete her duties on time, or they arrived at the hospital late.

“During my first labor, my kidneys failed, my heart was weak, and my liver shut down due to childbirth.” She (my daughter) had disengaged from the placenta. If I had arrived at the hospital even a second late, she would have lost oxygen and I would have had a stillbirth.

“When I look at her, I wonder, ‘What if…?'” The what-ifs have haunted me. They harassed me so much. I’ll glance at her and remember I’m nervous. There were so many what-ifs, and they tormented me for a time. I had to get treatment to help me learn to be grateful.”
